Mazda Miata

  • Solo 2 Stock Class Level I

Technically anyone can just start racing with a helmet, car, rule book, and entry fee. The only problem is that in stock form most vehicles do not react the way we like when tossed at full speed from side to side. They bob, sulk, and tend to scuff economy-derived tires making horrible screeching noises. Now, the Miata/MX-5 does escape the stereotype but that’s not to say it can’t be improved on. You need every advantage you can get out there!

This stage is for the customer that wants to get into the world of autocross, stick to the stock class, and have the most fun possible. With this combo you’re guaranteed not to be bumped into some funky class running against tailored Corvettes and you will have more fun seeing your car polishing off a few other “stock” novices. If questing for better lap times you should eventually look to replace OEM rubber with softer street tires that qualify for stock class (ex: Falken Azenis, BF Goodridge G-Force, Kumho Escta, etc). This package will also make your vehicle more entertaining to drive to work or on a true road course.

H&R Adjustable Front Sway Bar [89-05 ONLY]

The cheapest way to transform your vehicle into a weekend racer is to install an upgraded sway bar. Stock class only allows the change of the front bar, but still helps greatly in your side to side transitions. This particular bar is adjustable to match the driver’s style and the urethane/Teflon bushings minimize squeaking noises commonly associated with similar modifications. *89-97 has a 25mm adjustable bar, 99-05 has a 26mm adjustable bar*

SR Motorsports Heavy Duty Sway Bar Mounts [89-05 ONLY]

Stock sway bar mounts cannot compare to these burly TIG welded steel mounts. They are powder coated for additional durability. With an upgraded bar, these bring the security in knowing it will stay where it belongs.

    Eibach Anti-Roll Kit [2006+ ONLY]

This sway bar set for the new MX-5 features two hollow sway bars (25.4mm front / 15.8mm rear) and new poly bushings for a quality install. The rear bar cannot be used in CST class, but is a great addition for other types of track events or your graduation into street prepared class.

SR Motorsports Adjustable Sway Bar End Links [2006+ ONLY]

These links are extremely strong compared to the factory units and are adjustable too. Price is for one set of front end links.

    K&N Replacement Filter

These high flowing replacement filters give additional power while staying Kosher at nationals. These can be cleaned and re-oiled countless times for a true million-mile warranty. This is just about the cheapest horsepower on the market.

    CG-Lock

Autocross and track events throw you around pretty bad (especially with typical seat bolstering). A great/cheap way to prevent this is to clip a CG-Lock on your seat belt and cinch it down. Besides being more comfortable, your times will improve because you’re spending less time bracing yourself and trying to regain a proper driving position. These are not considered “life saving” devices such as seat belts, ABS brakes, or air bags…However, they have been crash tested by CG-Lock and stand up great.

    G-Force 750 Open Face Helmet

In order to race, you will need to get a helmet of some type that is Snell SA2005 certified. This is a popular choice for the local racers and has a great price for the budget conscious. This helmet a lightweight fiberglass shell with a CoolTec liner. It has top and rear vents for extra cooling.
