Subaru WRX/STi
In 2002 Subaru thought they would bring the WRX stateside and sell a few to bring new interest to their company. Little did they know it would totally revamp their consumer group. The WRX (2.0 or 2.5) is the tuner car today that the Ford Mustang 5.0 was years back. Nimble handling, AWD traction, and a turbo flat-4 make for affordable power and keeps exotic sports cars thinking twice. The STi’s introduction pushed the Subaru Solo 2 status to new heights.
These packages are designed for those who drive their vehicles on a daily basis but want more competitive performance on the track. Due to the strict regulations of the SCCA, owners of these packages have no fear being bumped from their class even at national level. If questing for better lap times you should eventually look to replace OEM rubber with softer street tires that qualify for stock class (ex: Falken Azenis, BF Goodridge G-Force, Kumho Escta, etc).
While these are designed around Solo 2 autocross standards, they will also help your vehicle perform well on an open track or the drive to work.
